West Africa: ECOWAS To Introduce Single Currency Usage In 2015 - Ekweremadu
The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has however decided to introduce the use of a single currency in the year 2020 in the sub African region and takes effect in 2015 in the English speaking countries.

This notice was disclosed by the speaker of the ECOWAS parliament, Senator Ike Ekweremadu during a dinner organised for the members of the Administration, Finance and Budget committee of the organisation after their one week meeting/workshop in Enugu.
“Our parliament will henceforth screen the list of Commissioners for the Commissions, scrutinize and pass budgets as well as make laws that would transform the sub-region.” He stated.
Senator Ekweremadu also stated that ECOWAS has also transformed from being a committee of states to becoming a committee of the people and that was the reason the meeting was drafted to another state other than state capitals.
