James Ibori To Be Sentenced April 16

The former governor of Delta State, James Ibori, is to be sentenced on April 16. He pleaded guilty to 10 counts of money laundering and conspiracy to defraud.

British police accused him of stealing about N60m or 250 Pounds over his eight years as governor. He was first arrested in 2007 and then freed but was re-arrested again in Dubai on a British warrant in 2010 and extradited afterwards.

Nelson Mandela Discharged From Hospital

South Africa’s former president, Mr  Nelson Mandela, was on Sunday discharged from hospital after undergoing diagnostic procedure.

According to a statement issued by the presidency spokesman, the discharge information stated as follows:

"The doctors have decided to send him home as the diagnostic procedure he underwent did not indicate anything seriously wrong with him.

"President Zuma thanks the public for the good wishes and support."

Suicide Bomber Attacks Church In Jos

A suicide bomber detonated his explosives close to a church in Jos, Plateau State on Sunday. The bomb however struck the headquarters of the Church of Christian in Nigeria (COCIN) during their morning service thereby killing 3 people and some others were injured.

Police Service Commission Dismissed Zakari Biu

Who still remembers Zakari Biu? He was the police commissioner in charge of Kabiru Sokoto's case some months back but was suspended after the boko haram king pin, Kabiru Sokoto escaped from custody.

However, the news is that Zakaru Biu has been dismissed from the Nigerian Police Force by the Police Service Commission. Biu's anticipated dismissal was probably linked to blames received as a result of Kabiru Sokoto's escape.
