Nigerian Government Should Remove Subsidy and Raise Taxes - IMF
Nigeria needs to deepen its drive in subsidy reforms and improve tax administration to achieve its development need, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said.
The IMF executive board handed down this advice to the Nigerian government at its 2011’s Article IV consultation with Nigeria held on February 22, 2012.

James Ibori To Be Sentenced April 16
The former governor of Delta State, James Ibori, is to be sentenced on April 16. He pleaded guilty to 10 counts of money laundering and conspiracy to defraud.
British police accused him of stealing about N60m or 250 Pounds over his eight years as governor. He was first arrested in 2007 and then freed but was re-arrested again in Dubai on a British warrant in 2010 and extradited afterwards.

Nelson Mandela Discharged From Hospital
South Africa’s former president, Mr Nelson Mandela, was on Sunday discharged from hospital after undergoing diagnostic procedure.
According to a statement issued by the presidency spokesman, the discharge information stated as follows:
"The doctors have decided to send him home as the diagnostic procedure he underwent did not indicate anything seriously wrong with him.
"President Zuma thanks the public for the good wishes and support."
